Read Debra’s story…she reminds us why we are here doing what we do—everyday

Please understand that I have not had a positive salon experience in almost 20 years. On occasion, I would go and have my hair butchered and be so miserable and had given up to the point of occasionally attempting to trim and color myself. Nobody seemed to "get" my hair. Imagine the worst head of hair you have seen on a non-homeless person, and I can assure you it was probably more terrible than that...

On Friday December 4th, I was assigned to Tiffany at the Grove City location. I am pretty sure she took a first look out over the waiting room and silently wished that I wasn't the one waiting for her. By the time I walked out almost three hours later, Tiffany had a loyal customer with a follow up appointment (and a bag of products). What this young lady was able to do is a testament to your organization's hiring and continued training processes and practices.

Tiffany brought me two decades forward in "hair time" and took 5-10 years off my look (if family and friends are to be believed). Friends, family, and colleagues have stared, touched, and complimented me for the past three days. I don't even look like the same person. People have commented that even the shape of my face has been changed. Folks I have known for over 10 years had to do double takes. My best friend told me that something has been added to my confidence---according to her I have always been respected and "in charge", but I have somehow added "hot". For many years I have avoided mirrors; now I smile at the woman in the reflection. AND--I was actually able to come pretty close to recreating the look I left the salon with Friday night. Not as perfect as Tiffany, but darn close. What an artist she must be. She knew EXACTLY what I needed, even though I certainly did not!

My only regret that there is no "before picture" for Tiffany's portfolio. Surely when the appointment was over she went to wrap herself in the fetal position, but I went to my vehicle to cry "happy tears".

I know I am just one head of hair in the Kenneth's day, but I hope that you will extend to Tiffany (and her managers and corporate supervisors) my great appreciation. Your salon and stylist were an exceptional, life improving experience. I will certainly tell her in person in February at my next scheduled appointment.
